Yamaha’s Z trumpets were designed in collaboration with jazz legend Bobby Shew. Bobby plays a wide variety of musical styles and dreamed of a single trumpet which would be equally suited for screaming lead, mellow jazz, ballads, ‘legit’ studio gigs, etc. It took many years of working with Bobby before we finally achieved our goal, but it was worth it.
