The 40th Anniversary model is a reissue of our legendary YD9000 drums. Based on the original specifications, this limited edition kit also incorporates features and innovations found throughout Yamaha’s 40-year history. Nippon Gakki, the predecessor to the Yamaha Corporation, was founded in 1897 and in the following year, the Phoenix logo was registered as the company’s official trademark.

While the triple tuning fork design that adorns modern Yamaha Instruments is well know throughout the world, it is this Phoenix motif that adorned the music rests of our earliest, highest quality organs. The design embodies the spirit of our founder, whose goal was to produce instruments of world-class quality.
