Other key features of the Stage Custom Advantage are the triple tom holder and the newly designed 700 series hardware package which includes both a straight and a boom cymbal stand. The 17” bass drums are an inch deeper than normal, resulting in noticeably greater bottom end and sound density. The 14”x5.5” snare drum is available in matching Natural Wood, or with a chrome-plated steel shell.
The mounted toms, floor toms and snare drums have 8-ply shells, while the bass drums have 9-plies for extra tone and stability. It goes without saying that the shells are constructed using our exclusive Air Seal System which ensures perfect roundness, a crucial factor in achieving superior tone quality and durability.
The tom toms are mounted via the original Yamaha Enhanced Sustain System (YESS) which eliminates the need for a hole in the shell for the rod to pass through. The YESS clamp is attached to the shell with two bolts, allowing the shell to vibrate freely without stifling sustain. And just two bolts are also used on the floor tom leg mounts, again minimising mount-to-shell contact.
