FAQ

Which products are supported by the Studio Connections?

At the moment all digital devices by Yamaha - the following mixing consoles: 01x, 01v96, DM 1000, 02R96, DM2000 and the following synthesizers: MOTIF ES series, S 90 ES, the MO series and the MOTIF Rack.

The following software programs are supported: Cubase SX and Nuendo version 3 or higher.

Will there only be Yamaha and Steinberg products supporting the Studio Connections?

As the Studio connections is an open platform with a free available SDK, other companies can make use of the developments of the Studio Connections Initiative. But as the development is made by Yamaha and Steinberg, new functions will be always first in their products.

Which operating systems are supported by the Studio Connections?

Windows XP and Mac OS X.

Can I use the Total Recall or Audio Integration for several devices at once?

You need a Studio Manager Editor or the GTRC module to use Total Recall. But there is no limitation to how many devices/editors you use at once. Regarding Audio Integration this just depends on the number of inputs and outputs of your audio interface and on the power of your computer.

What do you need to make use of the advantages of the Studio Connections?

For the Total Recall function you need an Editor for the Studio Manager or the GTRC module and for the Audio Integration you need enough inputs and outputs on your audio interface. Which audio interface you use does not matter; Studio Connections also do not depend on mLAN.

How does the communication work for the Total Recall function?

The data is transported via MIDI, so you have to setup a MIDI In and Out in the editors to setup the communication between the editor and your hardware device. It does not matter if you use standard MIDI cables, USB or mLAN for the MIDI communication.
