ANAHEIM, Calif. — In an appeal to upscale, design-conscious consumers, Yamaha will introduce MODUS H01 at Winter NAMM 2007, a stunning new digital piano featuring a sophisticated slim style that accents the finest living environments. Inspired by the successful Slimline CLP-FO1 Clavinova, this striking new design offers the same space-saving attributes and outstanding sound quality.
As with the CLP-F01, Yamaha designers have addressed the needs of luxury homeowners, who put a premium on efficient use of space and enjoy adorning rooms with stimulating accents that make their homes unique and sophisticated.
"Though we are catering to the new design-conscious consumer, this instrument sounds and feels as beautiful as it looks," says Jim Levesque, Clavinova Marketing Manager, Yamaha Piano Division at Yamaha Corporation America (YCA).
"We encouraged Yamaha's design team to take a fresh look at the digital piano and to produce an arresting piece of functional art that would turn heads, get customers to play the instrument, and say 'wow!'" continues Levesque. "This new model proves that form and function can blend harmoniously to reach new heights."
Design is not just about what the instrument looks like; it's also about how it works, and this is where MODUS truly shines. The model features an 88-note natural wood keyboard for authentic grand piano feel and three-level dynamic stereo sampling AWM (Advanced Wave Memory) tone generation, which varies the volume and timbre of sound according to the user's touch on the keyboard. The piano's 64-note polyphony and 10 instrument voices provide a rich dimension of sound.
The MODUS also includes a USB input that allows users to connect the instrument to a home computer, three pedals (damper with half-pedal effect, sostenuto, and soft) and a built-in 40-watt (x2) sound system. A variety of gorgeous finishes, including amber glow, velvet rouge and deep brunette – all accented with polished ebony – are available.
"The growing number of people who appreciate sophisticated design demand superior quality on all levels," says Levesque. "We plan to offer additional new models in this product line over the coming years that cater to these discerning consumers."
The MODUS H01 Digital Piano is expected to be available in early 2007.
