Un triomphe de Technologie et de Tradition
|
| |
Since its ground-breaking introduction in 1987, the Yamaha Disklavier has revolutionized the world of the traditional piano. It offers an amazingly versatile range of digitally enhanced capabilities, in addition to the world-standard quality and performance of a Yamaha acoustic piano.
Inside a Disklavier grand piano |
How It Works |
| |
In playback mode, ultra responsive solenoids reproduce the actions of the recording pianist exactly as if the artist were sitting there at the keyboard. Recording is made possible by pairs of specially designed optical key or key and hammer sensors that work together to register every aspect of the player's touch—timing, velocity, duration and release—without any effect on the feel or motion of the keys. Unlike sensors relying on physical contact, this unique optical system allows the Disklavier to retain the natural touch and response of an acoustic piano, while delivering the ultimate in accuracy and musical performance. Data from these sensors can also be used to play some of the many Disklavier XG digital instrumental voices in unison with the acoustic piano, or transmitted to a variety of computer and MIDI devices. Sensors and solenoids at the piano's pedals precisely register and reproduce their motion as well.
1) Recording and sensor information does not apply to Disklavier Playback Grands. 2) DGA1, DGP1, DGH1BA, DA1A, DC1A and DC2A grands and MPX70 uprights use incremental key sensors, rather than dual key and hammer sensors. |
