The DME8i-ES is a programmable digital audio processing engine interfacing with both the analog audio and the EtherSoundTM audio.
EtherSoundTM audio allows connecting by using the standard CAT5 LAN cable to distribute the audio. The star and daisy-chain
connection between units provide the flexible and expandable connection in a local area such as in a recording studio or in a broadcast.
The DME8i-ES features 8 analog audio inputs and the EtherSoundTM consists of 16 channel audio input/output. The DME Satellite
series provides the expandable audio distribution system allowing the remote operation via RS232C, GPI or Ethernet. The DME
Satellite is suitable for the wide range of installation with the expandable capability and the reasonable cost.
KEY FEATURES:
- Interfacing to 8 analog inputs and one EtherSoundTM (16 in/out).
EtherSoundTM carries 64in/64out channel signal in a CAT5 LAN cable with the extremely low latency 120
microseconds (@48kHz).
- 1U rack mount size with the powerful processing capability.
- DME satellite series provides the audio distribution flexibly meet to large to small scale installation.
- The higher model DME64N/DME24N works as the core for the large system.
- The analog 12in/4out system can be configured with the DME4io-ES with the high performance of DSP
processing.
- High performance Yamaha DSP chip is mounted, and 80% of the processing capability of the DME24 is
realized in 1U unit. (excluding Effects function on the DME24N)
- The DSP chip provides versatile component including EQ, Crossover, Delay and etc. These components are
realized by programming with the Yamaha DME designer application software running on the Windows PC.
- High quality sound with 24bit/96kHz, and the acclaimed performance of mic-preamplifier, AD/DA and
grounding technology.
- The 9 pin serial communication terminal is for the AMXTM and CrestronTM, and the control the AD8HR
(Yamaha A/D converter with the variable head-amplifier gain)
- GPI terminal for the switch and fader control.
- Ethernet connector and USB port for communication with the PC.
- Optional LCD panel for the Ethernet connection, and the optional switch/fader panel for GPI connection.
ARCHITECTS’ & ENGINEERS’ SPECIFICATIONS:
The Digital Mixing Engine shall incorporate DSP engine, 8 analog audio inputs, EtherSoundTM input/output, and communication capability in 1U rack
unit. The total system shall meet the following performance criteria: 8 analog inputs configured by the Euroblock on the rear shall include headamplifier
with the gain covering from microphone to line level (-60dB to +10dB). EtherSoundTM configured by the RJ-45 connector on the rear shall
handle 16 channel input/output out of 64 channel on the network. Internal DSP function shall be programmed by using the DME designer (software)
running on the Windows. The latest version of software shall be freely downloadable. Delay, Dynamics, Filter, EQ, Pan, Auto Mixer, Matrix Mixer,
Wav File player, router and etc shall be created. The Ethernet connector with RJ-45 shall be for the communication to the PC or the optional intelligent
control panel. And one USB port shall be on the front for PC communication. 8 in 4 out GPI configured by the mini-Euroblock on the rear shall allow
connect the GPI faders, switches, and lamps for status monitoring. The serial 9 pin terminal on the rear for RS232C/RS422 shall be used for AMXTM or
CrestronTM, either for control the gain of Yamaha AD8HR (1U AD converter with Head-amplifier).
