Nouveau Lugs
Yamaha's revolutionary Nouveau Lugs utilize a flotaing design that eliminates contact between the lug casing and shell so the shell can resonate freely. Their quick release design also provides for very quick head changes and reduces the risk of losing washers since it is no longer necessary to entirely remove the tuning bolt from the lug to remove the rim.
New Strainer on Brass, Copper and Aluminium Shells
New strainer designs on both release and butt sides allow quick and easy removal of the strainer attachment with a drum key. Without having to remove the strainer strings, snare removal is speedy making head changes quick and easy as well. Strainer adjustment after changing heads is also no longer necessary since the strainer attachment reattaches to the same position it was in prior to removing the head. The strainer is also designed with a memory scale so you know at a glance, how much tension is on the snares.
