To meet different tonal requirements, the CG151 is available with either a solid sitka spruce or solid American cedar top. The former is known for its bright dynamics that suit a strong, rhythmic style, the latter for its mellower, sweeter tone that will compliment a more lyrical repertoire. The ovangkol back and sides lend a rosewood-like character, rich in harmonics and low-end response.
In keeping with a classical guitar of this quality, the CG151 features an ebony fingerboard - a premium wood usually associated with more expensive instruments.
