Mike Bordin began playing Yamaha Drums as a teenager and turned down almost every other companys endorsement offers. He believed that Yamaha Drums were superior as a teenager and still does to this day.
Mike Bordin played in Faith No More for 16 years, and sold numerous records. He has toured internationally and depended heavily on the drums and hardware to develope a personal sound. Mike is one of the hottest rock-drummers of our times and currently on tour with Ozzy Osbourne. Some other artists he has performed or recorded with are Jerry Cantrell of Alice in Chains and Korn.
The Mike Bordin Signature snare drum has the power to cut thru loud music and the durability to stand up to his punishing playing style but still has the warmth and sensitivity for most any musical application.
Copper shells have enhanced low-end frequencies that give them a darker tone that works great in all musical situations. The Mike Bordin snare drum has an extra-thick 2mm shell to stand up to Mikes aggressive playing.The drum is hammered on the bottom half for warmth, but the top half is not hammered so that the drum can take the punishment of even the heaviest hitter.
The snare uses the same lugs found on the ever-popular Anton Fig snare. These lugs are borrowed from our line of marching drums for clean looks and durability.The 2.3mm thick triple flange Dyna Hoops are strong, giving you precise tuning yet they allow the drum to open up. The rims on the SD6465MB are black coated, and the shell is "heat finished" to give it a beautiful dark finish.
