A British acoustic guitarist from the same stable as Bert Jansch, Adrian Legg and Tony McManus, Belfast-born Colin Reid is the latest player to move the acoustic world. With only a handful of new players emerging on to the fingerstyle acoustic scene, Colin blends blues, jazz, country and classical influences to create a unique and moving folk style.
Biography:
Supporting major artists like Bert Jansch, Leo Kottke and Adrian Legg, and playing with artists like Niamh Parsons and Peter Corry, Colin has toured across Europe and America and recorded a number of albums. Launching his solo career in 1997, Colin’s debut album ‘Colin Reid’ was released on independent Shetland label Veesik Records to critical acclaim.
Colin’s follow-up album ‘Tilt’ featured tracks with guest vocals from Eddi Reader and Boo Hewerdine. Released in 2001 and described as diverse, gentle and uplifting, Tilt goes on to prove that Colin is a major player on the acoustic scene.
