Yamahas home keyboard division previewed a wide range of new digital pianos and keyboards at the Frankfurt Music Show back in March.  These instruments will be introduced into the UK market in June and cover prices from under £200 to over £3000.

New DGX Series

The DGX series of Portable Grand pianos has proved very popular over the past few years - and three new models will be making their debut in a dealer near you very shortly. The new DGX range features improved piano samples, uprated speaker and amplification systems and a new selection of styles - including some taken from the successful CVP400 series. The DGX230 offers a 76-note piano-style keyboard with a new Graded Soft Touch action, whilst the DGX530 and 630 offer a full 88-note keyboard. In addition, the DGX630 features a fully weighted action for improved piano feel and response. A new 3-pedal unit is available as an optional extra for the DGX630 which brings full piano pedal functionality to the Portable Grand range for the first time.

Arius Digital Piano

The new Arius YDP140 offers a very affordable way into playing the piano, with a fully weighted 88-note keyboard, a selection of ten voices including a 3-level Dynamic

Stereo Sampled piano, and 3 pedals. The traditional cabinet is available in a choice of two attractive new wood finishes, Dark Alder or Light Cherry. The YDP140 represents exceptional value at under £650.

New CLP Clavinova

A whole new range of CLP classical Clavinovas also made their first appearance at Frankfurt, with prices starting at £1000. The new CLP300 range features improved piano samples and up-rated amplification, whilst many models feature the unique Synthetic Ivory keytops which first appeared on the CVP409. The cabinets of the CLP300 series echo those of a traditional upright piano, and are available in a choice of five beautiful finishes. The CLP380 is a particular star of the show, with its new 5-level Dynamic Stereo piano sample, and an amazing Tri-Amp system which utilises separate amplifiers for the bass, mid and treble frequency ranges, for the best classical Clavinova performance ever.

PSR-E413

Finally, for the beginner or those simply looking for an affordable, portable keyboard, the new PSR-E413 features new sounds and styles, together with an expanded Arpeggiator section which has to be heard to be believed! A new cabinet design not only looks great but provides much better bass response. The E413 is an exceptional keyboard at under £200.

All of these instruments should be landing at your local Yamaha dealer over the next few weeks... so why not pay a visit and check them out for yourself.
